Saffron Sounds is an independent music label founded by Mazi Jarvis and Julius Jansen, two musicians from The Hague, Netherlands, driven by a shared passion for organic sounds.
The two met through the local music scene, connecting over their mutual appreciation of jazz, crate digging, and music production. Late nights at jazz bars and record shops turned into conversations about the depth of talent around them—and the limited number of outlets to support and release that kind of music. That gap sparked the idea for Saffron Sounds.
From the start, the goal has been simple: to release music that feels real, raw, and unpolished in the best way. Music that doesn’t chase trends but stays true to the creative instincts of the people making it. Whether it’s dusty jazz samples flipped into modern beats or live instrumental sessions captured in one take, Saffron Sounds is about preserving the soul and spontaneity of the creative process.
Today, the label supports a growing roster of artists, producers, and collaborators from across genres, all united by a commitment to honest sound and community-first values. For Mazi and Julius, Saffron Sounds is more than a label—it’s a long-term home for boundary-pushing music that might not have had a place otherwise.
